How about: Clearing your favorite programmer's REDO stack when s/he's not looking - SETVAR HPREDOSIZE 0 (and then set it back). Or, making the prompt change when you're IN BREAK.

   WHILE TRUE DO
     input name=myvar;prompt='Please Wait...'
   endwhile

Hint: to get out of this, type in a colon.
